Regional Business School Career Fair sees huge turnout

For one day, students from business schools from the Rocky Mountain region gathered to meet with employers from all over the United States. The Colorado Business School Career Fair saw students from Colorado State University, CU Boulder, CU Denver, University of Denver, Regis University, and Wyoming State University.

From noon to 7PM on September 12, hundreds of undergraduates, graduates, and alumni walked around the third floor of Sport Authority Field at Mile High. Nearly 200 University of Colorado Denver Business School students visited the fair.

Some employers had positions they were trying to fill immediately. Liberty National and Furniture Row scheduled and conducted interviews at the fair. Most organizations, like The City and County of Denver and Oracle, directed interested fair-goers to their websites.

The types of positions offered varied greatly among employers. Waffle House and Target wanted undergraduate management majors for store leader positions. Market research firms Convergys and Epsilon were looking for graduate students with more technical skills.

This career fair is part of a larger effort to connect the business schools to the surrounding community and local business partners. Over 130 employers sponsored booths at the fair, many of them looking to fill positions in the Denver area.
