New Student Convocation is the official welcome for all new students to the University of Colorado Denver. Similar to graduation being the end of a student’s university experience, this event marks the beginning of a student’s time at CU Denver and involves a pinning ceremony. This is an opportunity for incoming students to come together for their first official university event.

Meet future classmates, faculty, staff and administration at the Business School reception starting at 3:30pm. Get answers to last-minute questions, make some friends, and learn about classes and programs you might be interested in. Light refreshments are served. At the end of the reception, students will put on their gowns to march to the gym for the formal ceremony, followed by a bbq for students, parents, faculty and staff in attendance. All new students will receive a spirit shirt at the bbq.
