“Be your authentic self,” stated Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz on the morning of Wednesday, May, 20.  Schwab-Pomerantz joined the University of Colorado Denver Business School at the CU South Denver Liniger Building for a breakfast conversation.  With over 100 students, community members and business partners in attendance, Schwab-Pomerantz spoke about her recent book, The Charles Schwab Guide to Finances After Fifty: Answers to Your Most Important Money Questions; financial literacy for youth, and coming into her role as a woman in leadership.

The morning was kicked off by Dean Sueann Ambron who thanked Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz for joining the business community at South Denver, as well as for Charles Schwab’s contributions to the Business School that enabled them to offer a free financial course in summer 2015.  The course is a result of a gift from Charles Schwab and multiple other financial firms in the Denver area to introduce students – both business and non-business students alike – to the careers in the booming investment services industry.

Schwab-Pomerantz spent the rest of the morning urging young women to “live your values” and to work for an organization that cares about what you care about and live with a purpose oriented lens.  She went on with her inspirational talk to encourage having a vision for your life, and not to be afraid to ask for what you want.

The breakfast event marks one of the first major events that has been held by the Business School at the Liniger Building at CU South Denver.  The Business School offers a variety of courses at that location including a full MBA program.  The next big event at the Liniger Building will take place at the end of June and early July and is an opportunity for all interested in the MBA program to complete the application process onsite, waive the GMAT, apply for scholarships, and have the benefit to waive the application fee.
