CUDenverBusinessSchool's 2013 Scholarship Luncheon album on Photobucket

More than fifty scholarship donors and scholarship recipients came together recently for the University of Colorado Denver Business School’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon. Each year, this event allows students to meet the individuals who help support their education, and offers donors the chance to see the impact of their contributions firsthand.

During the lunch program, recent graduate Steve Golter spoke about his experience as a student and how it motivated him to want to give back. After graduating with an MS in Information Systems last year, Golter decided a named scholarship would be the perfect opportunity to have a positive impact on the next generation of students. He established the Steve Golter Scholarship Fund for Information Systems, and this fall a student was awarded the first Steve Golter Scholarship.

Also addressing the audience was Megan Welch, recipient of the Trueblood Scholarship for Entrepreneurship. Welch said that scholarships are more than just financial assistance, but also recognition for the hard work and dedication students put toward their education. She thanked all the donors in the room and said she hopes to contribute to student scholarships after graduation.

The Business School offers over 25 different named or privately funded scholarships. These scholarships benefit nearly 100 Business School students each year.
