Ranking organization The Financial Engineer released its 2015 Financial Economics Rankings. The University of Colorado Denver Business School rests among the Top Ten at number 8.
Financial Economics is a dual degree offered by the Business School and the Department of Economics. It combines the quantitative skills of an MA in Economics with the practical applications of an MS in Finance. It is designed to create highly-skilled research professionals with considerable econometric skill as well as familiarity with the finance industry. Each individual program features overlap with the other, allowing for a unified 14-course experience.
The Financial Engineer places schools based on a number of components. Mean GMAT score is the strongest indicator at 30% of the ranking. Mean starting salary of graduates follows at 25% of ranking consideration. Mean undergraduate GPA, acceptance rate, graduate employment rate at graduation and graduate employment rate 3 months after graduation are the other factors used for determining rank.
