The MS Finance program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School was recently recognized as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) recognized university by the CFA Institute.  This is the gold standard of acknowledgement in the global finance industry.  The Business School will join the ranks of other global universities which prepare their students to become a CFA.

Programs who earn this recognition teach a curriculum with the CFA Institute’s code of ethics and 70% or more of the Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) which consists of “the core knowledge, skills, and abilities that are generally accepted and applied by investment professionals throughout the world.” Below is a video of the Managing Director of the CFA Institute, John Bowman, explaining the importance of the University Recognition Program.

Jian Yang, Professor and Director of Finance Program stated, “It is also another success of our conscious efforts of branding our finance program…. The excellent ranking of MS in Finance program announced in early Fall 2014 apparently has played certain role in the approval process.”

In addition, because the Business School is a recognized university, more scholarships will become available to students.  Each year, five CFA Program scholarships will be awarded to students in the Finance program.
