Downtown Denver Partnership Honors Business School at the 52nd Annual Downtown Denver Awards Dinner

DENVER, CO – Six awards were presented by the Downtown Denver Partnership on May 29th at the Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel during the 52nd Annual Downtown Denver Awards Dinner, sponsored by Polsinelli.

The winners were selected by a jury convened by the Downtown Denver Partnership in recognition of the businesses, projects and initiatives that have had the most significant impact on the center city in 2012.  As a celebration of achievements in the Downtown Denver community, the six winners were honored by 900 individuals that attended the annual Awards Dinner.

“Our sincere thanks to the Downtown Denver Partnership for honoring the CU Denver Business School with this award,” said Sueann Ambron, Dean of the Business School, “Denver has a bright future. It has gone from the middle of nowhere to the center of everywhere…it is a connected global city with an engaged business community. This award recognizes that we are part of the future of this great city.”

Denver Crime Laboratory

For creating a state-of-the-art crime laboratory equipped with cutting-edge technology that sets a new standard for forensic science and enhances the ability of the Denver Police Department to quickly solve and prevent crimes.

Denver Startup Week

For highlighting Downtown Denver as an entrepreneurial center with the most successful inaugural startup event in the nation, connecting and engaging over 3,500 startup community members at more than 70 community-driven events.

Galvanize

For transforming an historic building into a collaborative work space utilizing capital, community, and curriculum to propel Downtown Denver as a hub of innovation and a magnet for the future workforce.

MSU Denver Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center

For leveraging an innovative public/private collaboration to create a dual purpose educational facility that combines classrooms with interactive laboratories, a hotel and restaurant, providing students with hands-on learning and a dynamic curriculum.
