University of Colorado Denver Business School students Kennedi Christensen and Nick Nguyen were invited to join the AIG Denver 2016 Fall Producers Council & Claims Advisory Board celebration on Nov. 30 at Hotel Monaco’s Wine Cellar. The students were chosen to attend, because of their involvement with the Risk Management Insurance program here at the Business School.

“Every year, AIG invites its top producers and claims advisory members to participate in a networking and review session. This year, we wanted to include the next generation of risk professionals to meet them and introduce them to a broad group of risk professionals, as well as discuss emerging risks we at AIG are working on,” said AIG Mountain States Managing Director Brian Snow. “We were delighted RMI seniors Kennedi Christensen and Nick Nguyen attended.”

“The AIG Producer Council & Claims Advisory Board Meeting was an amazing opportunity to learn more about one of the hottest emerging risks in insurance and cyber liability. At this meeting, we were able to network with professionals from the industry and learn about the programs AIG has put in place to mitigate the risk of cyber liability,” explained Kennedi Christensen.

Nick Nguyen, who just completed the RMI course Cyber Risk and Cyber Warfare, agreed. “I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and having dinner with AIG. I was able to learn about reducing cyber liability claims. Everyone there was very welcoming and very excited to have a couple of students join them! This was fantastic applied learning on top of my Cyber Risk course with Yvette Connor.”

“The success of the University of Colorado RMI program goes hand in hand with the support and engagement of our industry partners,” said RMI Program Director, Dr. Ajeyo Banerjee. “We appreciate AIG and Brian Snow inviting RMI students to participate.”

The Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program offers many opportunities for students to join professional organizations, to network, meet mentors, apply for scholarships, and learn about internship and career opportunities. “Thank you, RMI Program, for always helping RMI students with information on networking and luncheons!” stated Nick Nguyen. “And thank you, AIG, for including us in this fantastic evening.”
