Student Organization Partners with Young Citizens for Philanthropy to benefit the Women’s Crisis & Family Outreach Center

The CU Denver Business School MBA Student Organization is participating in and helping to promote the first annual “Cycle Against Violence,” a bike race benefiting the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center in Castle Rock, Colorado.  The race will take place on Sunday, May 19, beginning at the Douglas County Events Center and touring through Larkspur and Perry Park communities.

The MBASO was founded in 2003 in order to provide a forum for MBA and MS students to meet, network with other students, and connect with members of the business community.  Since its creations the MBASO has hosted many networking events, such as Student Happy Hours, and Guest Speaker Panels.  The MBASO also provides charitable and outreach opportunities for MBA and MS students, such as volunteering at the American Diabetes Association Expo at the Colorado Convention Center.

In contribution to the Cycle Against Violence, the MBASO is paying registration fees for its participants in the race, as well as organizing volunteers and promoting the event.  It is partnering with Young Citizens for Philanthropy, a group of young professionals that seeks to empower those affected by domestic violence.
