On April 21, Business Career Connections (BCC) hosted the City and County of Denver for an exclusive mini career fair and panel discussion at the University of Colorado Denver Business School in the Laube Commons. Over 80 students and alumni attended. Additionally, 21 city employees were present to discuss the vast job opportunities with their departments.
Three esteemed professionals from the City and County of Denver sat on the panel and discussed their careers, how they made a difference in the city, upcoming initiatives, and what types of employees the city looks for to hire. The three panelists were: Stephanie O’Malley, Executive Director, Public Safety; Cristal DeHerrara, Deputy City Attorney; and Karen Niparko, Executive Director, Office of Human Resources.
Niparko has a special tie to the Business School, as she was the founder of Graduate Career Connections – now known as Business Career Connections. She stated that she felt “very privileged to be a part of this,” and that ultimately this event “is a win-win for everyone.”
There are multiple paths to take your career on working for the City and County of Denver – with multiple location, and over 13,000 employees, the opportunity is infinite. Overall the city was impressed with the professionalism and caliber of individuals from the Business School who attended and networked.
