The CU Denver Business School is pleased to announce the launch of the Business School Alumni Network. The Network plans to offer networking, mentoring, and educational events in the next year and opportunities to volunteer including participating in shaping the Network strategies and programs, helping create new ways for alumni to stay connected, and contributing to the success of the University of Colorado.

The Alumni Network is led by Keri Ungemah, an alumna herself, who came to CU Denver after graduating from CU-Boulder. Ungemah obtained an MS in Marketing in 2002 and today is a successful contributor to the CU-Boulder Law School as the Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Strategic Initiatives.

“Upon researching the numerous educational options in Colorado, the CU Denver Business School was the best choice for me with its Master of Science in Marketing program. I was able to go to school part-time, with outstanding professors and classmates, while still working full-time. The MS Marketing program allowed me to focus on honing my marketing skills and leveraging my financial background,” Ungemah said.

Ungemah is passionate about education, and in her role as Chair of the Network is using the skills she learned at the CU Denver Business School to help shape the mission of the Business School Alumni Network.

“With 24,000 alumni and over 70 percent residing in Colorado, we have a huge, diverse network of professionals who have a common tie of an outstanding education. We conducted a survey last fall and learned that over 90 percent of alumni would like to engage with the Business School at least annually. With support of the Business School and the University, we established the Business School Alumni Network, which aims to encourage alumni to participate actively in the CU Denver Business School community,” Ungemah concluded.

The Alumni Network kicks off its Back to Business Speaker Series on Wednesday, June 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with alumnus Joshua Pollack, founder and owner of Rosenberg’s Bagels, who will share his entrepreneurial methods in developing a successful business plan and securing financial funding. Attend the event on June 8 to connect with alumni, contribute to the conversation, and learn from leaders in our business community.

Our alumni volunteers will be putting on a great Back to Business event. But we need more alumni volunteers who are passionate about CU Denver and who want to help shape a successful and impactful Business School Alumni Network. I invite you to contact me for more information about the many ways you can get involved.
