Each semester the Business School invites students to take over our Instagram stories as Brand Advocates. Our Brand Advocates are students just like you from diverse backgrounds and majors.  They will cover virtual events and tell you about how awesome it is to go to CU Denver!

Let’s meet our five advocates:

Victoria Milczek is currently a Junior majoring in Marketing. #VictoriaInTheCity

Why did you choose CU Denver?

I chose CU Denver because I knew I wanted to stay local because I love Colorado. As a transfer student I haven’t gotten to experience CU much due to Covid but hopefully next semester I can explore a bit more.

How have you been staying sane during lock down?

During the lockdown, I have been going on lots of hikes which kept me sane because I love being outdoors and staying active.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

My favorite day of the week must be Friday because everyone is always happy on Fridays.

Do you have a unique talent or skill set?

I was in gymnastics for 8 years and won the Colorado State title twice!

Cole Martin is a transplant from Seattle, Washington and is majoring in Marketing. #ColeInTheCity

Why did you choose CU Denver?

I chose CU Denver because it’s in the heart of a city I really love. Denver has the big, lively city aspect I’ve always loved, without the 9 months of constant rain. The city reminds me a lot of Seattle with better weather and nicer people!

How have you been staying sane during lock down?

During lockdown, I have taken up many new hobbies. I started making music in Garageband, backyard skateboarding, photography, working out, and even began learning how to DJ.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

My favorite day of the week is Wednesday, and that’s because it’s the most relaxing day for me. It’s not like the weekend where I’m busy doing a ton of fun stuff, and it’s not like Monday where you are dragging yourself back to classes. It’s right in between where you’re having a very normal day, and maybe you’ll do something exciting, or maybe just chill!

Do you have a unique talent or skill set?

Vinyl wrapping was a skill I picked up during quarantine. Installing vinyl onto a car is extremely difficult, but I spent two weeks vinyl wrapping my own car and eventually got it down. Now I’m the guy with the purple car, which my mom laughs at me for!

Bella Scancarello is a first-year student planning on majoring in marketing. #BellaInTheCity

Why did you choose CU Denver?

I chose CU Denver because I have always loved the atmosphere here and felt as though I found my second family.

How have you been staying sane during lock down?

During lockdown I have started reading a new book series and have enjoyed hiking to waterfalls.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

My favorite day of the week is any day ending in y because I think every day is a great opportunity.

Do you have a unique talent or skill set?

One unique talent I have is that I can hold my phone with my toes and then send a text using my toes.

Lauren Wheeler is in her first semester of graduate school, majoring in Business Administration. #LaurenInTheCity

Why did you choose CU Denver?

I chose CU Denver because of the flexibility of their online learning environment! In addition, I was drawn to the business school because of the “Managing for Sustainability” specialization. This is such a unique program and something that I am ecstatic to dive into!

How have you been staying sane during lock down?

I have been spending a lot of time hiking, going for walks, and just enjoying the outdoors. In addition, I have gotten really into board games and spend a lot of time with my boyfriend (beating him in games of course!) Finally, I recently bought a house, so I’ve been spending a lot of time decorating and making it homey.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

My favorite day of the week is Saturday because it is full of opportunities! I love having a full day for adventure or just relaxing.

Do you have a unique talent or skill set?

I would say that I have a talent for gardening. I pot plants and even have a greenhouse on my rooftop! I’ve definitely been getting more involved and educating myself throughout the last year.

Jacqueline Andrade is a sophomore and double majoring in Accounting and Finance. #JacquiInTheCity

Why did you choose CU Denver?

I chose CU Denver because of my love for the city, the diversity, and the opportunities offered to me.

How have you been staying sane during lock down?

Working out, art, TV shows, baking, and spending time with my loved ones.

What’s your favorite day of the week and why?

My favorite day of the week has to be Saturday. I’m busy all week with school and work so waking up to a day off after a long week is such a great feeling. I love to have a warm cup of tea and look out into the city while I read in the mornings or catch up on cleaning. For me, it’s the most peaceful day out of the entire week.

Do you have a unique talent or skill set?

I don’t think I have any sort of unique talent. The only cool things I can do are ski double black diamonds and paddle board or raft rapids in the Colorado river.  I also love to do my makeup and, I have to say, my organization skills are pretty legit too!
