The Business School Alumni Network (BSAN) recently hosted its fall panel event, “Revolutionizing Business: The Transformative Impact of Technopreneurship,” with special guests Attorney General Phil Weiser, Managing Partner at Frost River Capital Rob Carpenter, MBA ’16 and Co-Founder of TechHubNow! Wendy Lea.

The panel recognized oft-held concerns about AI’s impact on jobs. Weiser acknowledged that while AI might replace some jobs, he assured that new jobs would be created. The panel stressed the importance of remaining flexible and practicing lifelong learning. Although traditional workers may have had only one career throughout their professional lives, the panel predicted that younger generations will have multiple careers. “You can be entrepreneurial wherever you go,” said Lea.

The panel stressed the importance of AI, or being left behind. “Your opportunity to reach your professional potential will be greater if you work with technology,” said Lea. The panel agreed that utilizing AI will free up time for higher pursuits. Carpenter predicted a future where robots do the laundry and dishes, which is on the horizon.

The panel recommended jumpstarting one’s entrepreneurial journey by immersing oneself in the Denver entrepreneurial community. Colorado is a thriving ecosystem for entrepreneurs; connecting with the community can lead to new opportunities. The panel encouraged learning to utilize AI to help business ventures. With modern tools and technology, starting a business may very well be more accessible than ever.
