Katrin V. Jeschonnek is an MS candidate in Management & Organization at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Katrin is originally from a small town called Taufkirchen, near Munich in Germany. She graduated from the University of Regensberg before attending CU Denver. Katrin received the Dean’s Super Merit scholarship for her performance, demonstrated leadership ability, and commitment to professional success.
“Receiving the Dean’s Super Merit scholarship showed me that education is appreciated and that success is not just an individual goal but also a goal for society. The scholarships I have received obviously ease the financial stress of being an international student, but it’s also a great recognition for hard work and determination. Being awarded a scholarship for my hard work has meant so much to me, I plan to set up a scholarship in the future to reward the hard work of other students.”
These scholarships impact not only current students, but also future generations of students, as scholarship recipients “pay forward” the benevolence shown by patrons of the Business School. Katrin is one of many students who benefit from the generosity of donors. Each year the Business School gathers the top community and business leaders at Denver’s premier event, the Celebration of Success, helping to raise essential support for student scholarships in order to make an impact in the lives of students, like Katrin.
This year’s Celebration of Success will feature a keynote address, titled ”Let’s Fix the Debt,” from Alan Simpson, US Senator from Wyoming (retired) and Co-Chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform (2010).
