On Friday, November 7, 2014, the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School is hosting a shadow day for Graduate and Undergraduate Students. This unique opportunity allows students to job shadow at an RMI-related employer, allowing students to “try it on for a day.”
This is the chance for All CU Denver Students, including non-RMI students, to find out about career opportunities in the RMI industry. Each participant will be paired with an RMI employer to shadow their employees and/or executives. This is a great way to learn about the industry and opportunities, as well as to network with professionals in the field.
Three great reasons why students should take advantage of this opportunity:
- The RMI Program’s industry partners continue to hire their graduates, even in this market!
- Safe, no pressure day of shadowing an RMI professional.
- Learn about opportunities in the field
All CU Denver students are welcome to participate, and the opportunity is perfect for students looking for a job after graduation, for an internship, or wanting to find out whether this field might be a good fit for them. Students will have an opportunity to experience firsthand what a risk manager does, or an account executive, or a claims adjuster, or an underwriter, or a marketing rep, or loss control specialist, to name but a few of the opportunities that exist in the field.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to find out about a field that is looking for young college graduates to fill their talent pipeline. The industry is expected to lose 60% of their workforce to retirement in the next five years, which means tremendous growth potential for people entering the industry now.
