August 20th is the annual CU Denver Block Party
It’s that time of year again when we all are coming back to school. Kick off the 2015-2016 academic year with your fellow students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and community friends at the third annual CU Denver Block Party.
Food trucks, games, and departmental tents will take over the block between Speer and 14th Streets—in the CU Denver “education corridor,” on Lawrence Street. Get to know all of the CU Denver programs, and learn about what opportunities await you in the coming years. Make sure to make a stop by the Business School tent. Currently there are a variety of programs that many non-business majors can benefit from such as the business minor. The Business School tent will also have prizes, and an Instagram photo contest.
If you’re feeling adventurous, fly through the air from the top of a 25-foot tall tower and land safely back on Lawrence Street on the zip line. Not into heights? Catch some tunes at the main music stage, featuring Lynx, an innovative singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, beat-boxer and producer, originally from Colorado, who now calls Portland, Oregon home. Also on the bill is My Body Sings Electric, a Denver-based alternative indie pop band with strong connections to CU. CU Denver alum DJ Chonz of KS1075 once again emcees and keeps the music flowing throughout the event.
See you next week at the CU Denver Block Party, and welcome back to school!
