The University of Colorado Denver Business School remains on the forefront of emerging industries and hot topics. Starting Spring 2015 as part of this endeavor, Yvette Connor, Managing Director of Risk Management Advisory Services at Alvarez & Marsal LLC, and Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems Onook Oh will teach Cyber Risk Management and Cyber Warfare at the Business School.

Networks, and the data that travels upon them, are under constant and increasing attack from foreign nations, terrorist organizations, and organized crime groups. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Interpol, and other defense agencies treat cyber crime as a very real threat and maintain initiatives to combat it.

This course focuses on the evolution of cyber crime, cyber warfare and cyber terrorism. It includes a discussion of how state and non-state actors utilize this form of asymmetrical warfare to infiltrate government and corporate networks. The course educates students from a policy, procedural and technological vantage on how best to manage the risks associated with information technology and to mitigate the effects of cyber crime upon enterprises and cyber warfare against regimes.

This course is for seniors and graduate students and counts as a business elective.
