Cyber Expert and Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Trend Micro, Thomas Kellerman, spoke with CU Denver Business School students Thursday evening about the emerging cyber threat landscape and the status of U.S. Cyber Strategy.
University of Colorado Denver Cyber Risk Management and Cyber Warfare professor instructor Yvette Connor welcomed Chief Cybersecurity Officer and Cyber Expert Thomas Kellermann, to campus Thursday evening, January 29, 2015.
Mr. Kellermann, Chief Cybersecurity Officer for Trend Micro, Adjunct Faculty at American University School of International Service and frequent Bloomberg Cyber Security Analyst contributor, addressed the class of Risk Management and Insurance graduate and undergraduate students, and spoke about the history of cyber threats and the emerging cyber threat landscape. He also addressed the status of the United States Cyber Strategy and President Obama’s Cybersecurity Executive Order. “In 2015, risk management must be modernized to address the externalities associated with a hostile cyberspace,” said Mr. Kellermann.
CU Denver Business School Dean Sueann Ambron attended the class to welcome Mr. Kellermann to the CU Denver campus. Dean Ambron is considered the “Mother of Multimedia” and pioneered work in such brands as Star Trek and MTV, as well as founded the Apple Multimedia Lab. Dean Ambron said, “It is timely to have Mr. Kellermann address students on the emerging threats of Cyber Risk and Cyber Warfare. CU Denver is providing critical, relevant content delivered by global Cyber super stars, such as Ms. Connor, Dr. Oh, and Mr. Kellermann.” As Mr. Kellermann told the students, “Not all the armies of the history of the world can stop an idea that has come.”- Victor Hugo
The class has been developed by Ms. Yvette Connor, Managing Director, Investment & Risk Advisory Services, Alvarez & Marsal, and Dr. On-ook Oh, Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Systems, CU Denver Business School.
