On March 30th Dennis Moore, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the Denver Broncos football club visited the Business School at CU Denver and also Professor Lawrence Cunningham’s graduate course in sports sponsorship.

His first stop was the CU Denver Marketing Club lead by Senior Marketing Instructor Mary Lee Stansifer. He talked about a number of salient marketing issues involving the Denver Broncos. He discussed the four pillars of the Broncos Business model which includes the gate, sponsorship, media and the stadium.  Dennis noted how important these pillars are to selling tickets, generating revenue, new service generation and innovation.  He talked about the importance of measuring them these factors with key metrics.

Dennis also talked about the overall marketing activities at the Broncos such as data analytics, fan development, branding, youth football, graphic designs, promotion, and advertising.  He also articulated the importance of the overall culture of the Broncos.

Many of the participants in the audience of ninety people had an opportunity to ask in depth questions.

Subsequently, Dennis visited with Professor Lawrence Cunningham’s graduate course in Sports Marketing. In the course, he outlined some of the key elements of the founding partnership between the Broncos and De Vita. He also talked about their partnership activities in health and wellness expos, the Back to Football 7K, and the Health and Wellness Challenge.

Dennis also talked about the use of parks and logos and official designations and how they were useful in the sponsorship, as well as content marketing. Dennis also discussed the growing importance of digital media.

The students in Professor Cunningham’s class found the Dennis’s commentary on Denver Bronco Partnerships very useful and his career advice of great benefit.
