DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition Orientation has officially kicked off the annual competition. The first event of the contest, the Business Plan Competition Orientation was held at the Jake Jabs Center on February 26th, 2014. Attendees were given details and tips about participating in the competition, which brings together challengers from Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming to vie for $75,000 in cash and in-kind awards.

The annual Business Plan Competition is for Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming based companies which have been in business for less than two years and have not received any Angel or Venture Capital funding prior to the competition. Each business plan entered in the competition must include at least one person on the management team who is a current graduate student at a Colorado, Montana, or Wyoming state university. Teams with at least one undergraduate student or alumni of the University of Colorado Denver are also eligible.

If you have a business idea, and are interested in competing, it is not too late to attend the orientation: a recording from the Business Plan Competition Orientation is available online for potential competitors who were not able to attend in person. The deadline to apply for the 2014 Business Plan Competition is Monday, March 24th, 2014.
