An accomplished graduate student completing a dual MBA/MS in International Business, Sarah Ault plans to apply her service-oriented background to the field of international business after graduation. Sarah’s experiences abroad in both London and Japan would not have been possible without the support of several Business School scholarships.
Sarah moved to Colorado after earning her undergraduate degree and worked for years in the nonprofit community. As a part of the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers (CVV) program, she was placed in an organization where she taught GED classes to homeless youth and young adults. During that year, she lived the pillars of the program – service and simplicity. That means she was volunteering 40 hours a week and living in a community house on a personal stipend of $75 a month.
Sarah was then promoted within the organization to work in corporate development, where she realized how important it was for her to speak the language of business. Already considering graduate school, she made the decision to attend the CU Denver Business School to pursue an MBA. She later added her second degree of MS in International Business, because of international experiences she’d been a part of through the program.
Currently, Sarah is a recipient of the Business School’s Excellence in Management scholarship and was also awarded the Study Abroad Scholarship for her management studies in London. She says these scholarships allowed her the opportunity to travel and study internationally.
Her future goals include combining her advocacy work in the nonprofit sector with her love of international business through diversity and inclusion. Speaking on the impact of her study abroad trip at the Business School she said, “London Calling solidified my love of international business. It was my first experience learning how businesses work globally and how people view the United States.”
Looking forward her hope is to be “that light of goodness in business, connecting what business stands for to people who could benefit from it.”
