    Global Conference on Stranded Assets and the Environment” at Queen’s College,
    University of Oxford on September 24, 2015. The University of Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment invited researchers and interested practitioners to a major academic conference on stranded assets and the environment.  Read more

  • Sustainable Business Class Students Visit repurposedMATERIALS, Inc.

    On October 14, 2015, seventeen students from Graham Russell’s Business & Sustainability/Sustainable Business Opportunity course visited the Colorado facility of repurposedMATERIALS, Inc. in Brighton. Damon Carson, founder and owner of repurposedMATERIALS, explained that the company – which has operations in Chicago and Atlanta with new sites opening shortly in Dallas and Philadelphia – buys used or unwanted industrial and commercial equipment and materials with the objective of finding a use for them that is different from their original purpose.  Read more

    The Center for Information Technology Innovation and Information Systems Association hosted the 10th annual Business Leaders with an EDGE Executive Panel event. The business leaders from some of Colorado’s premier companies discussed Information Technology industry outlook and how information technology is an integral part of every aspect of business and what they see as the future of business and information technology.  Read more

  • An Investment in America’s Infrastructure Could Cost Taxpayers Nothing

    With an interest rate of roughly 2%, the costs of investing in our infrastructure are as low as they have ever been, believes Marcelle Arak, CoBank Professor at the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities. A recent report showed unexpectedly slow job growth over the summer, raising the odds of a stall in the already sluggish U.S. economic recovery. While this in itself is disappointing, the even greater disappointment is the failure to do anything about it, particularly when there’s an obvious and costless solution: borrow hundreds of billions of dollars for essentially nothing and spend it on our nation’s crumbling infrastructure.  Read more

Morgan Center for Commodities at the CU Denver Business School, located in heart of Colorado’s business district, is emerging as a global source for holistic commodities research. The J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities recently launched two initiatives that bring academics and business practitioners together.  Read more
