Gloria Avalos, a first-generation student, always had a passion for business. Born and raised in Mexico, she knew higher education was always a part of her bigger plan. Despite having a passion for business, she studied nutrition at a Mexican university because the school didn’t offer a formal business degree.

Running a profitable food truck restaurant while going to school full-time isn’t always easy, but it sure is an adventure. Just ask Jonathan Tejada, a 20-year-old entrepreneur and undergraduate marketing major at the CU Denver Business School.

Alexis Weldon found her passion for business at a young age. While working for a small shop in high school, she fell in love with the many elements of entrepreneurship, marketing in particular.
As a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration student dual majoring in Marketing and Information Systems, Weldon searched high and low for special opportunities to get more involved and build a foundation for her career. Read more
Danielle Johannes has been on quite the journey to becoming a graduate of the CU Denver Business School. Her family moved around a lot, which is how she attended three different high schools. Immediately following high school graduation, she joined the army and served a two-year term in Korea.
After several more moves and life changes, Johannes found her calling in public relations here in Denver. Read more
