  • Business School Professor Discusses Issues with Using the Cloud with WSJ

    DENVER – The Wall Street Journal recently quoted University of Colorado Denver faculty member Jahangir Karimi for an article discussing small business’ use of cloud computing, and some of the problems they may face. Dr. Karimi is a Professor and the Director of Information Systems Programs at the CU Denver Business School. The article discussed the fact that while using the cloud can help small business become more lean and efficient in many ways, it can also cause some unintended and unplanned-for issues.  Read more

  • RMI’s Baroway Elected President of CPCU Leadership Council

    Cindy Baroway, CPCU, M.Ed., AIC, was elected as the 2013-14 president and chair of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society leadership council at the CPCU Society Annual Meeting on Oct. 27 in New Orleans. Baroway is a lecturer in the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program in the University of Colorado Denver Business School. The CPCU Society provides resources, educational programs and leadership opportunities for its 23,000 members in the property and casualty insurance industry.  Read more

  • GEM Program Welcomes New Executive Director

    DENVER – The Global Energy Management (GEM) program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School has a new leader. Jim Marchiori, the new Executive Director of GEM, has more than three decades of experience working in the energy industry, and played an active role in the program as a former member of the GEM Advisory Council. He has served as interim executive director for the past three months.  Read more

  • Banerjee named Executive Academic Program Director for Commodities Center

    The University of Colorado Denver Business School announced Ajeyo Banerjee as the Executive Academic Program Director of the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities. The partnership between the University of Colorado Denver and J.P. Morgan is the first-of-its-kind in the academic world, which provides innovative programs, and academic work in the field of commodity finance, economics and policy.  Read more

  • Business School Professor Earns IBM Faculty Award

    DENVER – Dr. Michael Mannino, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Co-Director of the CSIS PhD Program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School has recently won a prestigious IBM Faculty Award. The IBM Faculty Awards is a competitive worldwide program intended to 1) foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM research, development, and services organizations and 2) promote courseware and curriculum innovation to stimulate growth in disciplines and geographies that are strategic to IBM.  Read more

  • Business School Professor Makes Big Impact in Haiti

    LEOGANE, Haiti – Dr. Blair Gifford, Professor of Management and Health Administration at the University of Colorado Denver Business School, has been hard at work to improve economic and health conditions in Haiti. His project, the development of a vocational training school and midwifery training in Leogane, is making great strides in building economic and health stability in Haiti.  Read more
