A group of CU Denver Business School students recently returned from a Maymester program in Belize. Their goal? Hone their respective business skillsets through service learning projects aimed at helping the local population. This Maymester, CU Denver Business School students spent time abroad learning about leadership and entrepreneurship in a global context through the CU Denver in Ireland: Leadership and Entrepreneurship course offered by the Office of Global Education. For the course, students chronicled their ‘lessons learned’ through blogs. Students were immersed in the culture of the Republic of Ireland in Dublin with excursions to Belfast in Northern Ireland.  Read more

Dr. Jian Yang’s research is helping to influence policy on the financial sector in China with his research as a visiting fellow at People’s Bank of China (PBOC/PBC) last year. China is on a mission become a stronger player in the game of globalization. With its “One Belt, One Road” (OBOR) policy, Chinese leaders hope to expand trade links between Asia, Africa, and Europe by investing in its Silk Road.  Read more

In March, the Accelerated MBA cohort completed their International Business course abroad which included stops in Munich, Vienna, and Ljubljana. The course provides the opportunity for students to see how business is conducted in other parts of the world and create a platform to compare and contrast business cultures globally. This year students got to visit companies in a variety of industries and make stops in five countries.  Read more

The CU Denver Business School was honored to host a delegation of cybersecurity experts who visited on February 22, Denver through WorldDenver and Denver Sister Cities International. The Indian cybersecurity experts are members of the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs International Visitor Leadership Program. The five-member Indian delegation is on a three-week tour of the US, visiting key cyber cities and partners to gain insight and discuss global practices linking digital policy to the emerging global threats of cybercrime, cyber risk, and law enforcement.  Read more

In the world of business, finance is a universal language. Recent CU Denver Business School graduate Conor Steffey, decided to try his hand at speaking it halfway across the world. For most people, the idea of moving can daunting, especially when your new home is located half a world away. But for Conor Steffey, a recent MS in Finance graduate holding a Certificate in Commodities, the choice to pursue a commodities career in New Zealand was an easy one to make.  Read more
