The Risk Management and Insurance Program at the CU Denver Business School was founded with the strong support and involvement of industry partners. For the second summer in a row, the RMI program has been able to give back to the community by offering a free summer class to local high school students. This summer, 18 students from Colorado high schools participated in the Introduction to Risk Management Careers course and earned a free CU academic credit. Read more

The Business Career Connections (BCC) Center at the CU Denver Business School is hard at work year round putting students in situations to succeed. Peter Howell, a Finance and Risk Management major officially became a senior last week, is one such student.

The University of Colorado Denver Business School will receive a $25,000 donation from The Colorado Insurance and Education Foundation (CIEF) Board to support scholarships and opportunities for students of the University of Colorado Denver Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Programs.
The CIEF board voted to disband after 45 years and split its remaining $50,000 between CU Denver Risk Management and Insurance program, and the University of Northern Colorado. Read more
For the third year in a row, 18 Risk and Insurance Management students will travel over Maymester to London, the historical hub of global insurance. Students will stay in the heart of the London financial district and visit the world’s top insurance carriers and brokers, such as AIG, Willis, Beasley, and Lloyds of London. At Lloyds, students will enjoy the exclusive experience of sitting in a Lloyds box and observe firsthand the process of underwriting a unique global risk. Read more
When RMI undergrad Lisa Barela Sullivan stepped into the Colorado State Capitol building on Thursday, February 25th, she didn’t know what to expect from her first “Property & Casualty Insurance Day at the Capitol,” an annual event organized by Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association (RMIIA). RMIIA’s “Mission Possible” day galvanized insurance professionals from all over Colorado to attend, meet their legislators, hear from Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar and other legislators, lobbyists, and news journalists, all with the goal of learning about the legislative processes and laws that impact the insurance industry.
