  • Denver doesn’t earn enough to support its pro teams — but we do anyway

    When it comes to supporting its major pro-sports franchises, Denver punches above its weight. A new study from The Business Journals, the DBJ’s parent, says that Denver is the most “overextended” major sports city in America — meaning the gap between the area’s total local income and the revenue needs of its pro teams is the widest.   • Leading financial firms partner with CU Denver Business School to offer free summer class

    Did you know that undergraduate students who graduate with a business degree start with a median salary in the mid $40,000 range? In the next few years, the financial services industry in Denver will grow significantly. Financial companies have provided 100% tuition funding for CU Denver students to take this Summer 2015 course, so for a limited time it is free. In February a consortium of leading financial services companies partnered with the CU Denver Business School and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (MDEDC).  Read more

    Director of Accounting and Associate Professor, Michael Roberts, is no stranger to accounting for taxes.  In fact, he’s quite the expert.  That’s why WalletHub – a “social network for your wallet” – asked him for his opinion for the article, 2015’s Best States to Be Rich or Poor from a Tax Perspective.  The article “identified the best states where people in different income brackets spend the most and least on sales and excise taxes, property taxes and income taxes.”  Read more

  • The Annual Business School Alliance for Health Management (BAHM) Competition Comes to CU Denver Business School

    Every year the Business School Alliance for Health Management (BAHM) holds a prestigious case study competition between top health administration students, presenting the winners with $10,000 in prize money. This year, the competition will be held at the CU Denver Business School on April 18, 2015.  Past competitions have been located at Harvard Business School, Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.  Read more
