  • Worldwide risk management spotlight on Business School, Denver

    DENVER – The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) is holding their annual worldwide conference in Denver from April 27th through the 30th, 2014. The event, which is expected to draw over 10,000 risk industry professionals from around the world, will primarily hold events at the Colorado Convention Center. At the Convention Center, the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) Program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School will have its own display booth, sponsored by the University of Colorado Risk Management and corporate partners that support the program.  Read more

  • Annual Business Plan Competition Kicks Off with Orientation

    DENVER – The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition Orientation has officially kicked off the annual competition. The first event of the contest, the Business Plan Competition Orientation was held at the Jake Jabs Center on February 26th, 2014. Attendees were given details and tips about participating in the competition, which brings together challengers from Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming to vie for $75,000 in cash and in-kind awards.  Read more

    Professionals entering global energy system need a holistic understanding of the industry, Kaminski says Students who gain a big-picture understanding of the global energy system will find a wealth of job prospects in the evolving energy industry, Vincent Kaminski, Ph.D., told a CU Denver Business School audience on Feb. 13. “I tell my students that if they choose to specialize in energy, they cannot make a wrong decision,” said Kaminski, a professor in Rice University’s business school.  Read more

    The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the CU Denver Business School has been one of the foremost events for early-stage companies in Colorado, and is now expanding to the Rocky Mountain West. This competition seeks to promote the development of high-caliber business ideas, and recognize the most outstanding plans with more than $50,000 in cash and in-kind awards.  Read more
