    The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the CU Denver Business School recently announced its upcoming annual business plan competition will include a series of new events and opportunities for competition participants, as well as feature a new name and icon.   • Algae Oil Makers Win Jake Jabs Center’s Business Plan Competition

    Use waste from breweries to make supplements A novel way to create vegan spreads, cheese and dietary supplements using waste from breweries and ethanol plans won first prize Thursday in this year’s Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Daniel Higgs and Benjamin Mousseau won $10,000 for Superior Ecotech, a company that grows algae using waste carbon dioxide which then produces omega-3 rich oils for a range of products.  Read more

    For first time, dual winners named in Bard Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan competition An eco-friendly online fashion retailer and a mobile app developer shared the top prize in the 11th annual Bard Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition.   • Makers of unique electric guitar win Business Plan Competition

    Viktorian Guitars wins $10,000 in contest DENVER – The makers of a high-tech, carbon fiber electric guitar walked away with first place Thursday in the 10th annual Business Plan Competition sponsored by the University of Colorado Denver Business School’s Bard Center for Entrepreneurship. “I’m elated to bring this new technology to Denver,” said Josh Jacobson, CEO of Viktorian Guitars which won $10,000 for its first place showing.  Read more
