With the end of the semester and the winter holiday season rapidly approaching, we encourage our CU Business School students to spend time giving back to the community surrounding and supporting us. There are a number of opportunities and affiliated programs you can engage in! The following are ways you can spend your time contributing to your community these upcoming months.
Hans Mortimer is excited to begin a new career as a
public accountant after graduating from the MS Accounting program at CU Denver
in the spring of 2020, just one year after enrolling in the program.
Hans’ path to an accounting degree was not
straightforward, but his passion for continued growth and learning drew him
back to school to study accounting. Hans originally studied biology and K-12
education as an undergraduate at the University of California – Berkeley, where
he studied Vitamin A metabolism as a student researcher in the Napoli lab. Read more
Tanner decided CU Denver Business School would be his next adventure.
Tanner Calhoun has had an adventurous life. He has served in the Marine Corps, worked a drilling rig and in construction, been a hotshot firefighter, an EMT, a massage therapist, and even been a professional rodeo clown and bullfighter. Tanner’s most recent move has been a bit tamer by conventional standards, but he still finds it exciting. Read more
One of the most common questions that prospective graduate students have for our team is how to choose between a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Master of Science (MS) program. Our Enrollment team is here to help! The most important consideration when deciding to pursue either option: which one is the best degree to advance your career goals?

Although she didn’t present, Karissa Rund left this year’s Pitch Night as a winner.
At the final event for THE CLIMB, a collegiate business plan competition put on by CU Denver’s Jake Jabs for Entrepreneurship, Karissa took home the Social Impact Award for 8 Percent. Her idea wasn’t a product or service though, like those pitched by the other finalists. Instead, it laid out her plan to launch her own book and speaking tour. Read more

These students were nominated by someone at the CU Denver Business School for their excellent academics and commitment to success. Their journeys have included hard work, determination, adversity and triumph.
