  • Turning a string of tragedies into inspiration

    Although she didn’t present, Karissa Rund left this year’s Pitch Night as a winner. At the final event for THE CLIMB, a collegiate business plan competition put on by CU Denver’s Jake Jabs for Entrepreneurship, Karissa took home the Social Impact Award for 8 Percent. Her idea wasn’t a product or service though, like those pitched by the other finalists. Instead, it laid out her plan to launch her own book and speaking tour.  Read more

  • From an NCAA athlete to a Broncos intern, this CU Denver student is making her dreams come true

    Taylor Hunt has walked through several paths during her six-year college career. After switching her major three times and becoming medically ineligible to continue swimming collegiately, Taylor discovered the world of sports business at the CU Denver Business School. Being a Denver Broncos intern has helped Taylor experience the world of sports business.  As a first-generation student, she has made it her mission to set an example for her family.  Read more

  • CU Denver Business School Team Places Second in Daniels Fund Case Competition

    The undergraduate team from CU Denver Business School placed second in the 2019 Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative’s Consortium Case Competition. The eighth annual Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative’s Consortium Case Competition took place April 11-12 in Denver. The Case Competition exposes college students to a thought-provoking business ethics case, similar to a situation that they might face in their professional careers.  Read more

  • Student finds career advancement and international opportunities in One Year MBA program

    Living overseas is a dream that many people share. Justin Lightfield, a One Year MBA student, has the same dream. Originally from Ohio, Justin graduated with an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning before moving to Washington D.C. to begin his career. After a couple of years, Justin wanted to advance his career and find better work-life balance, so he began to look around.  Read more
