University of Colorado – Denver Business School Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) students recently participated in a two-week intensive course in Denver, including class lectures, presentations, and case studies, to prepare them to experience global risk management in the non-traditional Excess and Surplus Lines Market. The class then traveled to London, June 1-7, 2015, attended presentations from insurance brokers, risk management companies, Lloyds of London, and reinsurers to learn how risk is transferred globally.   Read more

Over 165 graduate and undergraduate students gathered from across the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses to compete at this year’s annual Research and Creative Activities Symposium. The Symposium showcases the research, creative and entrepreneurial activities of students on the Denver Campus and Anschutz Medical Campus. On April 10 and 11, at the Denver Marriot City Center, Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) chapters from across the Rocky Mountain region met.  The regional meeting was hosted by the University of Colorado Denver Business School’s Theta Sigma chapter. Theta Sigma held a special “Meet and Greet” event at the Business School on Friday, April 10^th, which brought together over 100 students from 13 regional chapters with more than 50 professionals from Denver area top financial firms.  Read more

“Many small people, who in many small places do many small things, can alter the face of the world.” So reads an inscription on one of the remaining panels of the Berlin Wall, a barrier between East and West Berlin that stood for nearly three decades and became a symbol of a divided world. When the wall fell, so too did barriers to the flow of capital, goods, and people. In our culture, it’s as if getting an undergrad degree is simply what is expected, even when we don’t know what we want to do.
