  • Denver’s Habitat for Humanity CEO builds on MBA

    When Heather Lafferty started at the University of Colorado Denver’s Business School, she couldn’t foresee how valuable what she learned would be, she says now. Since 2008, Lafferty has led one of Colorado’s largest nonprofits as the CEO and Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. While fulfilling its mission to help low-income families and individuals become homeowners, in recent years Habitat also has grown into an organization that is a lot like a healthy business.  Read more

  • A Celebration of Success: Alumna Jennifer Leitsch gives back

    Jennifer Leitsch is a dedicated alumna to the CU Denver Business School. Named to Denver Business Journal’s 40 under 40 in 2014, Jennifer has applied her MBA and Master of Science in Marketing degrees to their fullest. Currently, she is Director of Corporate Responsibility at CBRE, developing strategy and reporting around environmental, social, and governance initiatives.  Read more

  • Business students reflect on recent trip to Japan

    While some of us celebrated Fall Break by eating too much turkey on Thanksgiving, 20 talented CU Denver Business School students spent their time learning about the economy, history, and culture of a country located an ocean away. After having been awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Kakehashi Project, several returning student participants reflected on their weeklong experience abroad.  Read more

  • Students visit major companies during BCC’s first San Francisco Career Trek

    Business Career Connections (BCC) held its first San Francisco Career Trek the week of October 10th. Four graduate students, and 13 undergraduate students attended the trip with Sue Wyman, Director, BCC, and Stephanie Sindt, Career Advisor, BCC.  Students came from Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, International Business, Human Resources and MBA programs.  Read more

  • CU Denver Business School boasts impressive new rankings

    Recently, US News & World Report released their 2017 higher education rankings, which are widely regarded as one of the foremost benchmarks in evaluating the quality of education colleges and universities provide. The CU Denver School of Business undergraduate programs were ranked 94th overall, placing it in a tie with the University of Denver. Even more impressive, however, is the university’s undergraduate ranking amongst public institutions, where it came in 58th overall.  Read more

  • Sustainability Field Study Course Mike Cerbo student project

    The Sustainability Field Study Course at the CU Denver Business School led by professor Graham Russell that concluded this past Spring gave students the real world experience they crave. Students who took the course work individually or in small teams to conduct a semester-long sustainability project in a local company, government agency or non-profit. These projects address a clearly identified need and lead to a well-defined product or deliverable that can be achieved within the duration of a single semester.  Read more

  • Students Engage at Digital Summit Denver

    MS Marketing and MBA students at the CU Denver Business School attended Digital Summit Denver as part of a new course offered this summer, “Hot Topics in Digital Marketing”. The course is delivered in an innovative hybrid format. One of the 1st to include a conference, it combined the intensive Digital Summit Denver experience with additional on-line discussion and assignments.  Read more
