On May 5, 2017, the CU Denver’s Cycling Team burst into an elite field: Cyrus Pearo, the lone male rider on a tiny Lynx team (just two cyclists) sprinted to the finish in Grand Junction to win the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships.
Almost a year later – on St. Patrick’s Day – the Lynx squad blazed into even greener pastures: Manuela Escobar, a new team member, joined Pearo among the top finishers at a collegiate race in Fort Collins. Read more
Over 80 commodities researchers and practitioners came from across the world to attend the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) inaugural New Directions in Commodities Research International Symposium on August 9-11 in Denver to discuss critical thinking and new research related to commodities.
The agenda for the conference included keynote speakers, speaker sessions organized by academic and practitioner members of the Center’s Research Council, and competitive academic sessions selected by the Technical Committee consisting of Research Council members. Read more
Matt Fleming, Program Manager for the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the University of Colorado Denver Business School, spoke to about a dozen members of the community at the Colorado City Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on June 9th, held at the Rye Café. Fleming, originally from New York, has an MBA and is working on his MS Finance Degree. The only Center of its kind focusing on commodity education, The JPMCC provides undergraduates a certificate in Commodities, and MBA/MS Finance and Risk Management students the opportunity to specialize in Commodities.
