  • From a goat farm to a top 10 accounting firm career

    Raised on her family’s goat farm in Elizabeth, Colorado, Cassie Bennett never expected to land an internship with one of the top 10 accounting firms in the US upon graduation. Bennett, graduating with a BSBA in Accounting this May, will continue her education at the CU Denver Business School through the BS/ MS Accounting 4+1 degree program, which allows students to complete both degrees in as little as five years.  Read more

  • Pioneering new research in telemedicine

    With 42 percent of hospitals in the US adopting the telehealth system, telehealth has become quite the hot topic in the information technology (IT) healthcare industry. Four Health Administration MBA and MS Health Administration students turned a class project on telehealth into a published research paper on physicians’ empowerment and satisfaction through a collaboration with the Computer Science and Information Systems PhD program.  Read more

  • Student success: Relentless in his educational pursuits

    From graduating high school in 2006 to recently accepting a competitive internship from Xcel Energy, Kasey Sipe’s relentlessness has led him to success. Sipe, earning his BSBA in both Accounting and Finance, is enjoying every minute of his undergraduate experience this time around. A long journey to CU Denver Being an Arizona native, Sipe made the trek to Colorado to pursue a career in food service and hospitality.  Read more

  • Cycling team gains another speedster

    On May 5, 2017, the CU Denver’s Cycling Team burst into an elite field: Cyrus Pearo, the lone male rider on a tiny Lynx team (just two cyclists) sprinted to the finish in Grand Junction to win the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships. Almost a year later – on St. Patrick’s Day – the Lynx squad blazed into even greener pastures: Manuela Escobar, a new team member, joined Pearo among the top finishers at a collegiate race in Fort Collins.  Read more

  • Celebrating a top-ranked part-time MBA program

    U.S. News & World Report posted their annual rankings for 2019 Best Part-Time MBA Programs and the CU Denver Business School’s part-time MBA program placed among the top. With an increased ranking, the CU Denver Professional MBA program strengthens a position as one of Colorado’s best part-time MBA programs. The program ranked second overall in Colorado, better than the University of Denver; Colorado State University; University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; and the University of Northern Colorado.  Read more

    From student entrepreneur to founder and CEO, Rob Carpenter has always embraced a “never quit” mentality. The business for his mobile app and software development company, AppIt Ventures, took off when he won THE CLIMB | Jake Jabs Business Plan Competition in 2012, and AppIt has since been featured in top business journals and magazines, won industry awards and even expanded its offices to London and India.  Read more
