Study after study shows students involved with clubs perform better academically than those that aren’t. On September 3 and 4, the University of Colorado Business School lobby hosted its student organizations for recruiting. From 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM organizations like Net Impact and Society for Human Resource Management handed out brochures, event invites, and goodies to everyone that stopped by.  Read more

Taxes. “Everyone has to pay them and they’re fairly complicated,” said Eric Zinn, director of the Master of Science in Taxation degree program at University of Colorado Business School and owner of a private tax law practice. “The tax code is changing all the time because there are always new laws coming into effect.” CU Denver is the only public university in Colorado and one of only 15 in the nation to offer the degree.  Read more

Instructor Lawrence Cunningham invited Cheroutes, an expert in all things Vietnamese, to share his real-world knowledge with the class. From September 15 through 20, startup experts will present on entrepreneurial topics all over Denver for Denver Startup Week (DSW). The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at CU Denver Business School will be full of future moguls during DSW. On the fifth floor of the Business School building, the Laube Commons will host a presentation each day of the week. Thursday, August 21, 2014 marked the third annual CU Denver Block Party. Held between 14^th and 15^th streets on Lawrence, the block party’s theme this year was Back in Black and Gold (a play on AC/DC’s 1980 album Back in Black). Students, community members, and local professionals enjoyed cuisine from food trucks like Fat Sully’s pizza, BTO YoMobile frozen yogurt, and Saj Xpress Mediterranean while local music groups The Epilogues, Chemistry Club, MIX,and DJ Chonz played.  Read more
