Nestled between Mexico’s southern peninsula and Guatemala and located on the eastern coast of Central America lies Belize. The country is renowned for its natural beauty and vibrant culture. Belize also is the site for one of four exciting study abroad Maymester opportunities. CU Denver Business School Information Systems graduate student, Lani Rupp, and her research partner Steven Chavez, recently returned from a cybersecurity competition in Shanghai, China. The pair competed in GeekPwn, a global contest in which hackers are invited to showcase the vulnerabilities they’ve found in smart devices. Many of the participants focused on hacking the usual suspects: smartphones, laptops, video game consoles etc.  Read more

While some of us celebrated Fall Break by eating too much turkey on Thanksgiving, 20 talented CU Denver Business School students spent their time learning about the economy, history, and culture of a country located an ocean away. After having been awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan from the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Kakehashi Project, several returning student participants reflected on their weeklong experience abroad.  Read more

It’s safe to say that since her time at the CU Denver Business School, Ariana Nikmanesh has been busy. Since the beginning of her college career two years ago, Nikmanesh has been active both on and off campus, having served as a research assistant at the business school, a marketing assistant, a College Council business representative for Student Government, and a marketing intern for a major Denver-based firm—all while holding down a job and tackling a full academic course load.  Read more
