  • Simio Donates $150k in software to CU Denver


    Demonstration of Simio Software Simio LLC, the maker of Simio simulation software recently donated approximately $150,000 worth of software to the University of Colorado Denver Business School. The grant from Simio provides the CU Denver Business School with 15 copies of the company’s signature software. Dr. Gary Kochenberger, a professor in the Decision Sciences program at the CU Denver Business School was instrumental in working with Simio to procure the donation of their signature software.  Read more

  • Students Get Hands-On Education in Global Sports and Entertainment Management in London


    University of Colorado Denver Business School students recently had the opportunity to travel to London to learn more about the global sports and entertainment management industry by experiencing it directly, through the school’s London Calling course. Part of CU Denver Business School’s Sports and Entertainment Management program, the London Calling curriculum is based upon experiential learning, allowing students to be exposed to new ideas and practices in the industry.  Read more

  • GEM Takes the Classroom on the Road

    Students and Alumni of the Global Energy Management (GEM) Program at the University of Colorado recently had the opportunity to tour an Ensign Energy oil rig in Hudson, Colorado. The tour was the inaugural event of the “GEM Energy Site Tour Series.” This new program is an extension of the GEM Speaker Series, and it will include quarterly visits to various energy sites around Colorado.  Read more

  • Sixth-Graders Learn About Sustainable Business

    The University of Colorado Denver Business School recently gave sixth grade students from Cole Middle School the opportunity to learn about building sustainable business. As part of a partnership between the University of Colorado Denver and Cole Middle School, of Denver Public Schools, sixth grade students visited the Auraria campus to explore the broad issue of sustainability—including learning about hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered cars, hydrophonics and the positive impact a sustainable culture can have on an organization’s bottom line.  Read more

  • CNN Money lists Colorado as one of the most Entrepreneurial States

    A new article from CNN Money ranks Colorado as the 4th most Entrepreneurial state in the Union, following only Arizona, Texas and California. The rankings are taken from the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity, which is published by the Kauffman Foundation.  According to the Kauffman Foundation, “The Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity measures the rate of business creation at the individual owner level.  Read more
