  • Yang invited to plan for annual Meeting of the New Champions

    CU Denver Business School finance professor Jian Yang is one of 11 experts who has been invited to the brainstorming meeting to prepare for the 2014 World Economic Forum summer Davos meeting — or the Annual Meeting of the New Champions. The meeting is a summer session, continuing work from the 2014 World Economic Forum winter Davos meeting, which was held Jan. 22-25, 2014, and will be in Tianji City, China in September.  Read more

  • Where Denver ranks among fastest-growing cities

    Forbes is out with its latest annual ranking of the nation’s 20 fastest growing cities in terms of population and economic growth — and Denver has jumped higher on the list. Metro Denver ranks No. 6 in Forbes’ 2014 estimation, up from No. 16 on the 2013 list. Forbes says Denver’s population growth rate was 1.75 percent last year, but the ranking isn’t solely based on population increase.  Read more

  • The Business Plan Competition: It’s About More than Money

    The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition (BPC) at the CU Denver Business School has been one of the foremost events for early-stage companies in Colorado, and is now expanding to the Rocky Mountain West. This competition seeks to promote the development of high-caliber business ideas, and recognize the most outstanding plans with more than $50,000 in cash and in-kind awards.  Read more

  • CU Denver Accounting Students Offer Tax-Prep Help to Needy

    Accounting students at the University of Colorado Denver Business School are pitching in this tax season to help the needy. In collaboration with Denver Asset Building Coalition (DABC) and their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, members of the Beta Alpha Psi – Theta Sigma Chapter (BAP) at CU Denver will help prepare tax returns for low-income families and individuals.  Read more

  • Selkowitz to Lead Historic Preservation Law Seminar

    University of Colorado Denver Business School faculty member Ira Selkowitz will be presenting a continuing legal education (CLE) program for the National Business Institute (NBI).   • Business School Professor Discusses Issues with Using the Cloud with WSJ

    DENVER – The Wall Street Journal recently quoted University of Colorado Denver faculty member Jahangir Karimi for an article discussing small business’ use of cloud computing, and some of the problems they may face. Dr. Karimi is a Professor and the Director of Information Systems Programs at the CU Denver Business School. The article discussed the fact that while using the cloud can help small business become more lean and efficient in many ways, it can also cause some unintended and unplanned-for issues.  Read more
