Gloria Avalos, a first-generation student, always had a passion for business. Born and raised in Mexico, she knew higher education was always a part of her bigger plan. Thomas Evans (MBA ’12), artist Thomas Evans (MBA ’12) has always been an artist, but he studied business at CU Denver and took a job at a marketing agency after graduation. When he discovered advertising wasn’t quite for him, he planned to follow his family’s footsteps into the military – until, that is, he tore his ACL in a martial arts class and instead went on a volunteer trip to Tanzania.  Read more

Running a profitable food truck restaurant while going to school full-time isn’t always easy, but it sure is an adventure. Just ask Jonathan Tejada, a 20-year-old entrepreneur and undergraduate marketing major at the CU Denver Business School.
