Abdul Sesay, Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) doctoral candidate, was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant to continue his research on the impact of the use of body-worn cameras (BWC) in Colorado police departments. On Thursday February 23, the CU Denver Business School hosted Sheridan Titman, a leading finance researcher from the University of Texas at Austin. The lecture was well attended by both students and faculty, where Dr. Titman presented a recent paper “A Dynamic Model of Characteristic-Based Return Predictability” where he established that “climate of disruptive innovation” is a source of systematic risk that influences the returns in the stock market.  Read more

CU Denver Business School’s Data Warehousing for Business Intelligence Specialization, a set of massive open online courses (MOOCs) offered through Coursera, is one of the top-rated specializations in the data science category for business, receiving about 4.5 stars out of 5 with a total of over 6,000 course completions across the five courses. The specialization was developed by two Information Systems professors at the Business School, Jahangir Karimi and Michael Mannino.  Read more

At this year’s Holiday Potluck, the University of Colorado Denver Business School announced the 2016 faculty and staff awards along with the Laube Community Impact Award. Faculty awards are given for excellence in research, excellence in teaching for tenure and non-tenure tracks, and excellence in service.
