  • New commodities center professional education course

    Participants in the new Commodity Data Analysis course offered by the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the CU Denver Business School, traveled across the globe to gain valuable skills in quantitative reasoning this past week. The new three-day intensive course, held from November 9 to 11, was offered as a part of the JPMCC’s Professional Education courses.  Read more

  • Rising from the ashes

    The winds of change sweeping the nation on Wednesday, Nov. 9, are nothing new to Josh Pollack. He’s seen plenty of shifts in the past year. His bagel store in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, which proved an immediate success upon opening two years ago, sustained a major setback last May when an early morning fire broke out in one of the apartments above the business. The blaze damaged the back two-thirds of Rosenberg’s Bagels & Delicatessen, forcing a lengthy closure for repairs.  Read more

    More than 300 local business leaders gathered at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce State of Small Business event to celebrate the achievements of Kate Paul, the recipient of the 2016 Bill Daniels Ethical Leader of the Year award.   • 11th annual “Become a Business Leader with an Edge” executive panel event another success

    The Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI) in Collaboration with the Information Systems Association (ISA) student club hosted its 11th annual Become a Business Leader with an Edge executive panel event on October 18, 2016. The business leaders from the community gathered for a panel discussion on the importance of acquiring information technology (IT) skills in order to be competitive in today’s business world.  Read more

  • MBA student’s business plan advances to semi-finals of THE CLIMB Business Plan Competition

    Each year, CU Denver’s Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship hosts its Business Plan Competition, in which young entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to pitch their ideas to established business leaders, with the winner receiving the financial support needed to start or grow their business. Recently, the Jake Jabs Center hosted a “Shark Tank” style pitch night, the quarter-final portion of this year’s competition, where participants were given two minutes to present their elevator pitch to a panel of esteemed judges, who then asked participants follow-up questions for up to three minutes.  Read more

  • CU Denver Business School boasts impressive new rankings

    Recently, US News & World Report released their 2017 higher education rankings, which are widely regarded as one of the foremost benchmarks in evaluating the quality of education colleges and universities provide. The CU Denver School of Business undergraduate programs were ranked 94th overall, placing it in a tie with the University of Denver. Even more impressive, however, is the university’s undergraduate ranking amongst public institutions, where it came in 58th overall.  Read more

  • THE CLIMB announces Pitch Night and semi-finalists winners

    The room was buzzing with excitement as ten startup teams prepared to pitch their businesses for the chance to win cash prizes and advance in THE CLIMB | Jake Jabs Business Plan Competition. At THE CLIMB Collegiate and Community Pitch Night on Oct. 13, 2016, six collegiate and four community start-up teams presented their elevator pitches to a panel of distinguished local judges and a live audience at Galvanize’s Platte campus in Denver, Colo.  Read more
