The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the University of Colorado Denver Business School recently hosted, Crowdfunding or Crowdfrauding, a panel of distinguished business and academic experts to discuss the ethics of raising investment funding from “the crowd.” The event was moderated by the Business School’s own Associate Dean of Programs, Dawn Gregg, and featured these panelists:

David R. Hammond, Ph.D. and lecturer for the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities (JPMCC) at the CU Denver Business School has been awarded the Mineral Economics Award by the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (AIME). The award recognizes Hammonds’ outstanding professional accomplishments and his distinguished contributions to the field of mineral economics.  Read more

On April 14 and 15, undergraduate business students from a four-state region took part in the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative’s fifth annual Consortium Case Competition. Ten student teams competed, representing business schools from universities in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The CU Denver Business School held its first NYC Finance Career Trek the week of April 4^th. Four graduate students, and ten undergraduate students attended the New York trip with Yosef Bonaparte, Assistant Professor, Finance; Stephanie Egan, Career Advisor, and Sue Wyman, Director, Business Career Connections. Dr. Sarah Kovoor-Misra, Associate Professor of Management at the CU Denver Business School has been elected to the leadership track of the Western Academy of Management. Kovoor-Misra will be on a four year track starting this year as Vice President, next year as Program chair, the year after as President and concluding as Past President. The Western Academy of Management (WAM) is one of the more active and well regarded regional affiliates of the Academy of Management.  Read more

According to U.S. News & World Report’s inaugural “Best Places to Live” rankings, Denver has landed as the top city to live in the entire nation. “Denver ranks as the No. 1 best place to live, in part because of its healthy job market, cost of living and perception as a desirable place to live,” the report says. Business Career Connections at the University of Colorado Denver Business School will host the Spring Career Fair Wednesday, March 9^th from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, in the first floor lobby of the Business School. The Business School is located at 1475 Lawrence Street, at the corner of 15^th and Lawrence Street.
