  • Alumni Network Hosts Back to Business Speaker Series

    Kicking off the Business School Alumni Network’s Back to Business Speaker Series, Joshua Pollack, owner and founder of Rosenberg’s Bagels & Delicatessen, recently spoke to a group of more than 50 business alumni about his experience with creating business plans and securing financial funding during challenging economic times. Pollack cited his passion for food, and his yearning for east coast delicacies that were unavailable in Denver, as his personal motivation for opening Rosenberg’s Restaurant in 2014, named after his grandmother, and located on Welton Street in the Five Points neighborhood.  Read more

  • International Education Takes Center Stage at NAFSA Conference

    International education at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus took center stage in early June as 10,000 professionals poured into Denver for the NAFSA: Association of International Educators conference. NAFSA last brought its annual conference to the Mile High City about 20 years ago, said Cecile Schoberle, director of marketing and communications, Office of International Affairs at CU Denver | Anschutz, so this was a major event and CU Denver | Anschutz took full advantage.  Read more

  • CU Denver Hosts International Business Event at Annual NAFSA conference

    When a room filled with university staff from across the globe were asked the amount of time it took them to travel to Colorado, many answered with twenty hours or more. Long distances and extended travel times, however, simply come with the territory for these world travelers, as many are leaders for the study abroad programs at their respective universities, and all are attendees of the annual NAFSA Conference.  Read more

  • Jake Jabs Lists Keys to Entrepreneurial Success

    Traveling through Asia on a recent furniture-buying trip, Jake Jabs kept seeing the same low-backed couch in market after market. Feeling a hunch, he put in a bulk order and shipped the “strange-shaped” sofas to his American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) showrooms in Colorado and Arizona. “We sold 69 sets in the first two weeks,” he said. “That’s what you have to do – you need to try things.  Read more

  • New Certificate on Cyber Security and Information Assurance

    The Information Systems Program and the Jake Jabs Center For Entrepreneurship at the CU Denver Business School are pleased to announce the offering of a new certificate in Cyber Security and Information Assurance. The first course is set to start June 6th, 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the CU South Denver Campus. With recent breaches in the security of many large government agencies and private corporations, cyber security is an issue of great importance to the global society.  Read more

  • Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship Outlines Resources to Encourage Students

    CU Denver faculty has discussed efforts to encourage millennial students, who have shown to be more risk-averse, to engage in entrepreneurship. Madhavan Parthasarathy, director of the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship, discussed resources the center offers to students, such as providing mentors, networks and the fundamentals to starting a business. He also outlined the Launchpad Certificate Program, which enrolls non-degree-seeking students in five courses that give them the fundamentals to start their own business or contribute an entrepreneurial perspective to an existing organization.  Read more

    Rob Carpenter is an exceptional individual who has used the education he is receiving from the CU Denver Business School to become a very successful entrepreneur. Rob received his undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship from Northern Michigan University and will complete his Master’s in Business Administration next summer with an emphasis in Enterprise Technology Management.  Read more
