  • CU Denver’s MOOC specialization among the highest ranked

    CU Denver Business School’s Data Warehousing for Business Intelligence Specialization, a set of massive open online courses (MOOCs) offered through Coursera, is one of the top-rated specializations in the data science category for business, receiving about 4.5 stars out of 5 with a total of over 6,000 course completions across the five courses. The specialization was developed by two Information Systems professors at the Business School, Jahangir Karimi and Michael Mannino.  Read more

  • MBA student helps sustainability firm enhance software platform

    Current MBA student Christina Volpi recently shared her experience working for Sustainable Collaborations Group (SCG) with CU Denver Business School’s Managing for Sustainability Advisory Council. She spoke on her completed research on SCG’s Sustainability Performance Measurement software and shared her findings with the council. SCG, a third party Sustainability Performance Measurement and Management services organization, has created software that gives clients an automated way to capture, maintain and manage sustainability activities, data, and information via an all-inclusive, integrated system.  Read more

  • Denver’s Habitat for Humanity CEO builds on MBA

    When Heather Lafferty started at the University of Colorado Denver’s Business School, she couldn’t foresee how valuable what she learned would be, she says now. Since 2008, Lafferty has led one of Colorado’s largest nonprofits as the CEO and Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. While fulfilling its mission to help low-income families and individuals become homeowners, in recent years Habitat also has grown into an organization that is a lot like a healthy business.  Read more

  • Cuba Libre: international experiential learning

    With the Cuban borders officially opened in 2015, our students are now able to experience a previously unseen side of Cuba through a Business School Study Abroad program, Cuba Libre. Through the program, students experience the rich cultural history of urban and rural Cuba, while gaining an understanding of the complex political and economic system as it tries to embrace normalized relations with the world’s largest economy.  Read more

  • CU Denver’s PMG secures seed fund of 250,000 dollars

    What would you do if someone handed you 250,000 dollars? For students in CU Denver Business School’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), the answer is invest. A Business School student organization, PMG was founded in 2014 by Yosef Bonaparte, a Professor of Finance who wanted to bridge the gap between concepts taught in the classroom and what takes place in the business world.  Read more

  • A Celebration of Success: Amanda Pajonk

    Amanda Pajonk has taken full advantage of the opportunities her CU Denver Business School scholarships have afforded her. Amanda, who is a senior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics, is heavily involved with her Business School program while working full time at a real estate development company. She is an active member of Beta Alpha Psi and was a speaker at the 2015 Annual Business School Scholarship Luncheon.  Read more

    The University of Colorado Denver Business School celebrated its sixth year of graduates from the Risk Management and Insurance Program on Dec. 15, 2016. Twelve undergraduate students, seven graduate students, and one professional certificate student, celebrated their graduation at the end of fall 2016 semester.
