  • Educating soldiers for the cybersecurity war

    Three billion dollars were lost in the last three years because of email scams. To make matters worse, there are almost 1.5 million unoccupied cybersecurity jobs in the United States alone. “The greatest emerging threat facing humanity today is a cyber attack.” Vance Brown, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Center (NCC) quoted the former director of the CIA, General Petraeus, to set the stage for the Mountain West Cybersecurity Consortium (MWCC).  Read more

  • What it’s like interning at one of the world’s largest gold producers

    Parag Ravka is a second-year graduate student from India pursuing an MS in Information Systems. This past summer Ravka interned at Newmont Mining, a Fortune 500 company, where he worked as a technology intern. Headquartered in Greenwood Village, Newmont Mining is one of the world’s largest gold producers and is dedicated to sustainable and responsible mining. Ravka’s responsibilities included writing a complex computer language (Procedural Language/ Structured Query Language) and creating business intelligence reports for an environmental project.    Read more

  • How Issam entered the fast-paced health consulting world

    Issam Abouzahr is a graduate student pursuing an MBA in Health Administration as well as an MS in Information Systems. This summer he found success as an intern at Vizient. He shares his story and success from his time here at the Business School.


    I started college with the ambitions of becoming a doctor. Those ambitions were short lived. It took all of about three weeks into introductory biology to realize that I wasn’t content with the direction I had chosen.  Read more

  • Belize Maymester 2017: a lesson in service learning

    A group of CU Denver Business School students recently returned from a Maymester program in Belize. Their goal? Hone their respective business skillsets through service learning projects aimed at helping the local population. Led by Associate Professor of Information Systems, Ron Ramirez, the students embarked on a three-week trip that began in the country’s capital city, Punta Gorda.  Read more

  • Select graduate programs accepted into Western Regional Graduate Program

    The CU Denver Business School has partnered with the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) to allow students in western states to enroll in qualifying graduate programs and pay in-state tuition. The new tuition rates will begin in Fall 2017 for any newly admitted students. The qualifying programs include:

    • Professional MBA
    • Health Administration MBA
    • MS Accounting
    • MS Business Analytics
    • MS in Health Administration
    • MS Finance and Risk Management
    • MS Information Systems
    • MS Taxation
    Once admitted into a qualifying program, eligible students will receive the WRGP form.  Read more
