  • THE CLIMB Success Story: Q&A with Rosenberg’s Bagels

If you’re living in Denver, you’re probably familiar with a restaurant named Rosenberg’s and its addictive bagels baked with replicated New York water. Yes – we said New York. That’s how passionate CEO and founder Joshua Pollack is about making an authentic New York bagel in the Colorado Front Range. But did you know how these bagels came to be? In her article, The Influence of Hierarchy on Idea Generation and Selection in the Innovation Process, recently published in Organization Science, See and colleague Dongil Keum at Columbia University focused on how hierarchy affects two phases of the innovation process:

    1. The idea generation phase
    2. The idea selection phase
Based on results from a field study of a multinational fashion retailer and a lab experiment, See and Keum found that hierarchy is detrimental to the idea generation phase of innovation, yet it’s beneficial during the selection or screening phase of innovation.  Read more

  • Alumnus shares importance of doing good in business

Entrepreneurship runs in the Domoto family, so it was no surprise Drew Domoto wanted to start a company of his own. Domoto earned his Professional MBA in 2010 with emphases in marketing, managing for sustainability, and entrepreneurship at the CU Denver Business School.
