Top energy industry officials and researchers gathered at the EIA 2017 Workshop on Financial and Physical Oil Market Linkages on September 19 in Washington, DC. As the statistical agency of the Department of Energy, the administration promotes sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding regarding energy. As an alumna of the Business School, Austin was the speaker for the Back to Business Speaker Series hosted by the Business School Alumni Network. I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Denver 11-Month MBA program currently working at the Downtown Denver Partnership (DDP). Although I was not an entrepreneurship student, I was able to connect to the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship through the Center’s Director, Dr. Madhavan “MP” Parthasarathy. MP taught the 11-Month MBA Program’s marketing course and played an active role in integrating the 11-Month MBA cohort into the Entrepreneurship Center.  Read more

U.S. News & World Report posted their annual rankings for top universities, and the Business School’s undergraduate program was ranked 58th among public universities and 91st overall among national universities. This is an improvement from last year’s 94th ranking overall among national universities. The report’s rankings are based on measures of academic peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and commitment to groundbreaking research.  Read more

Five Business School accounting students were recognized for their academic excellence by two highly prestigious accounting organizations. The Educational Foundation of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA) awarded scholarships of 2,500 dollars to four outstanding accounting students. The four awardees were Kelly McIlvride, Amanda Pajonk, Henock Tesfay, and Morgan Wuthrich.  Read more
