  • Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Issues Top 3 Honors to CU Denver Business Students

    A team of four graduate students from the CU Denver Business School took third place at the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative’s ninth annual Collegiate Program Case Competition on Friday, April 16. This is the third time a team from CU Denver has placed in the event, with undergraduate teams winning second place in 2019 and third place in 2016. The Case Competition exposes college students to a thought-provoking business ethics case and is designed to challenge students’ ethical reasoning, give them tools for ethical decision-making, and raise awareness of the importance of principle-based ethics.  Read more

  • White-Collar Crime Expert Talks Real World Business Ethics

    The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program gave students a chance to learn from an expert in white-collar crime and corporate integrity: Eugene Soltes is a professor at Harvard Business School, the author of a best-selling book, and, in the course of his research had regular phone calls with Bernie Madoff. Inspired by watching a late-night crime show, he decided to write letters to white-collar criminals behind bars.  Read more

  • Bank with Colorado Roots Also Based in Ethics

    More than half a dozen top leaders from FirstBank partnered with the Business School’s Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program to host Ethics OnSite with CU Denver and Colorado Mesa University students. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic the event moved online, but still allowed students a look inside ethics at the third-largest privately-held bank in the United States.  Read more

  • Ethics Topics: Carnival Cruise Line Course Corrects

    The coronavirus pandemic brought cruise ships to the fore last spring, when passengers infected with COVID-19 were stuck on board. But ethical dilemmas at Carnival started nearly 20 years ago. In October, an audience of more than 130 heard the inside story about how Carnival turned things around. The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative (DFEI) Collegiate Programs at the CU Denver Business School and the CU Boulder Leeds School of Business partnered with the DFEI Collegiate Program at Colorado Law to present its Annual Ethics Lecture, “Carnival’s Compliance Journey.”  Read more
