Barnett is being recognized for his recent career move to Cantafio Hammond law firm as Special Council and Chief Operations Officer. Barnett is a GEM alumnus from cohort XIII and graduated from the program in June 2016. Ironically enough, he now works for fellow GEM alumnus, Ralph Cantafio, attorney and partner of Cantafio Hammond. Cantafio graduated with Cohort VII and now serves as a GEM faculty member, teaching GEMM 6200: Environmental, Regulatory, Legal and Political Environment in the Energy Industry, and GEMM 6210 Energy Law: Property, Contracts, and Transactions.  Read more

The University of Colorado Denver Business School calls for nominations of local leaders committed to ethical business practices for the 2017 Bill Daniels Ethical Leader of the Year Award. Now in its third year, the award program will honor the winner on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce State of Small Business breakfast. The award program is made possible through the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the University of Colorado Denver Business School, a five-year grant awarded to the school in 2015 aimed at teaching students principle-based ethics, emphasizing real-world application of ethical principles, and extending ethical behavior beyond campus and into the community.  Read more

The results are in: Colorado has the strongest economy in the United States. Financial news website 24/7 Wall St., recently ranked all 50 states, measuring unemployment rates, gross domestic products (GDP), and other factors to compile the list. According to the site, Colorado has the lowest unemployment rate in the county, coming in at just 2.3 percent. Additionally, the state has the 18th largest GDP, along with the third fastest rate of five-year annual employment growth.  Read more
