  • Student organization offers free tax assistance

    According to a 2013 Quinnipiac survey, approximately two-thirds of Americans find the federal income tax system to be too complicated, and therefore resort to outsourcing the work of filing to a third party. More often than not, those who choose this option pay hefty fees for the convenience of having their taxes prepared for them. Thanks to Beta Alpha Psi’s (BAP) new tax assistance program, however, come tax day, you won’t have to pay a dime.  Read more

  • Indian cybersecurity experts visit the Business School

    The CU Denver Business School was honored to host a delegation of cybersecurity experts who visited on February 22, Denver through WorldDenver and Denver Sister Cities International. The Indian cybersecurity experts are members of the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs International Visitor Leadership Program. The five-member Indian delegation is on a three-week tour of the US, visiting key cyber cities and partners to gain insight and discuss global practices linking digital policy to the emerging global threats of cybercrime, cyber risk, and law enforcement.  Read more

  • Five takeaways from Cuba

    Business School study abroad trip focuses on re-establishing entrepreneurism in communist nation In January, the University of Colorado Denver Business School took 16 students on a study abroad trip to Cuba, a country experiencing a renewed wave of entrepreneurial spirit. Although Cuba remains a communist nation, Raul Castro’s transition to power has allowed the creation of state-approved private businesses, many of which are flourishing.  Read more

  • Metro Denver has one of the lowest unemployment rates

    Metro Denver’s unadjusted unemployment rate was unchanged in December at 2.6 percent, the same as November, but down from this time last year, according to job estimates released today from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. The 2.6 percent rate is for a 10-county area that includes Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Broomfield and Centennial, but not Boulder.  Read more

    What would you do if someone handed you 250,000 dollars? For students in CU Denver Business School’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), the answer is invest. A Business School student organization, PMG was founded in 2014 by Yosef Bonaparte, a Professor of Finance who wanted to bridge the gap between concepts taught in the classroom and what takes place in the business world.  Read more

    The University of Colorado Denver Business School celebrated its sixth year of graduates from the Risk Management and Insurance Program on Dec. 15, 2016. Twelve undergraduate students, seven graduate students, and one professional certificate student, celebrated their graduation at the end of fall 2016 semester.
